Description
The beer brand “Furst Chlodwig” is named after the king of the Franks, Clovis I, who originates from the Merovingian clan. This monarch became famous as the founder of the state of the Franks, encompassing the modern Dutch, Belgian and Dutch territories. One of his most important victories was the battle with the Roman governor of Paris, Syagrius. Clovis I not only built a new, powerful state on the ruins of the Roman Empire, but also became a baptist of the Frankish tribes. The transition to Christianity opened new perspectives for the ruler, and he expanded his kingdom to the lands of modern France, making Paris the capital of the new empire. Hlodvig I left behind him a collection of the first Frankish laws, it was he who convened the first Orleans church council, where he received the title of “Son of the Church.”
