Description
Ridgeway, Imperial Russian Stout – Strong Imperial Russian Stout with the highest alcohol level for this style at 10%. This stout is characterized by its slow, long aging before bottling, which makes it significantly more wine and tangy than the export stout, so it has a much more wine character than a strong ale usually does. There is also a slight hint towards lambic, expressed in sourness. The bitterness of the beer in the fermenter is 99 IBU, but it softens significantly in the bottle, so the beer does not seem to be clearly hoppy.
Ridgeway, Imperial Russian Stout is brewed once a year and bottled in small quantities in numbered bottles.
