Description

“Villa Donoratico” – wine of great complexity with an original bouquet, which fully demonstrates the characteristics of the terroir. It is produced from selected grapes of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot, grown in the best vineyards in the region of Bolgheri.
After a long and harsh winter of 2011 with unusually low temperatures, spring came with heavy rains that continued until the end of May. Even in spring the temperature was below average and in June reached an average level of 22 C, so the plants started to grow quickly. Follow the summer months were sunny and very hot. Under these conditions, the harvest began in late August that earlier than usual. Fortress wines produced this year, slightly higher, but due to the perfect phenolic ripeness of the grapes, they have excellent structure and intense flavor.
Fermentation and maceration are conducted separately for each grade of steel vats at a controlled temperature not exceeding 28 C for 20-25 days. After assemblyazha wine is aged for 14 months in barriques made of French oak Allier and Tronkays. Then the wine is left to mature for another 9 months in bottles in the cellar of the winery. Wine “Villa Donoratico” has good potential storage for 8-10 years.
