  • White dry wine “Homestead Series”, Sauvignon Blanc It was created from 100% of the grape variety of Sauvignon Blanc, grown on the parts of the Tigerberg Range (Durbanville). The soils of the vineyards consist of granite, clayey and shale sediments with an excellent potential to store and retain water, which is necessary for agriculture in drought conditions. The climate is characterized by high daily temperatures, which are replaced by the night coolness, brought by the summer sea breeze from the cold Atlantic coast. Bellingham winemakers consider the vintage of 2015 to be particularly successful. The weather was not too hot and not too cold, but was in the ideal temperature range, designed for the appearance of small and very concentrated berries. Harvest was collected manually in the first decade of February. The berries underwent gentle grinding and the resulting must went to “cold” maceration at a temperature of 16 C in steel tankers. During fermentation, the wine wort was periodically mixed. Long contact with unrefined residue allowed the wine to acquire a deep complex taste and slightly oily texture.

The estate of Bellingham (from the African “Bellinchamp” – “enchanting field”) is located in the Franschhoek valley, in the foothills of Groot Drakenstein. Founded in 1693 by the Dutchman Gerrit Janse van Vuuren, the estate has always been famous for its intriguing wines with unique characteristics.
In 1943 the estate and adjacent land was acquired by a new owner – Bernard Podlashuk, with the arrival of which Bellingham wines gained unprecedented fame. There were lines of dry white wines of extra class, the first wine of the Premier Grand Cru category, the first pink wine and the first wine from the Shiraz grapes were produced.
Since then, many things have changed in the estate: new cellars, modern equipment, new vineyards, and new wine lines that have already won world recognition. The high quality of Bellingham wines, which combine the traditions of South African winemaking and the latest technologies, remains unchanged. More information:
