Description
Grapes for wine “Boscarelli” grown on the best vineyards in the economy’s sake Boskarelli Chervonyano. The wine is produced only in the best years of selected berries. Soil vineyards quite poor, alluvial, sandy, with traces of silt and clay. Harvesting is done by hand in small boxes. After separation of the stems and soft pressing a ten fermentation occurs at a controlled temperature of between 20 and 32 C, and then – a maceration for 10 days. After the malolactic fermentation, the wine is aged in French oak barrels Allier and Nevers, capacity from 225 to 500 liters, for a period of 12 to 18 months, depending on the characteristics of the crop. If necessary, after aging the wine is filtered before bottling.
The history of the winery Poderi Boscarelli began in 1962, when Egidio Corradi Marquis De Ferrari decided to do viticulture and winemaking far from Chervonyano de Montepulciano. This winery has become a family farm, business Egidio continued his daughter Paola and her husband Ippolito. Their children, Luke and St. Nicholas, also work on the farm since 1983. Poderi Boskarelli located in the historic area of Vino Nobile – Chervonyano. Vineyards farms spread at an altitude of 300 meters above sea level in the south-east of Montepulciano. This area is characterized by a special microclimate, ideal for growing quality grapes. Earth – alluvial, stony and sandy – create good drainage and give the grapes unique style. The most common variety here is Sangiovese, it accounts for 80% of the total vineyard area. The remaining land is occupied by autochthonous varieties – Canaiolo, Colorino, Mammolo and international varieties such as Cabernet, Merlot and Syrah. Wines Poder Boskarelli have high ratings and annually included in the prestigious wine guides “Gambero Rosso” and “Veronelli”.
