Description
Brovia, “Villero” Barolo is an elegant, dry red wine made from Nebbiolo grapes from the Barolo region. The variety’s name comes from the Italian word for “mist” that descends on the region during the harvest. The grapes also acquire a misty white veil as they ripen.
The grapes used to make the wine are hand-picked from carefully selected vines to ensure the highest quality of the raw material. After harvesting, the grapes undergo de-stemming and soft pressing. Fermentation takes place in traditional stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. It is important to note that fermentation lasts several weeks, which allows for the maximum extraction of aromas and flavours from the grapes. After fermentation, maceration is carried out in contact with the skins for several weeks, which helps develop a rich tannic structure and achieve a deep colour. The wine is then aged in large oak barrels (botti) for 24-30 months, developing a complex aroma and softening the tannic structure. The wine then undergoes an additional year of bottle maturation.
