Description
Cortonesi, “La Mannella” Rosso di Montalcino DOC is a young, fresh red dry wine made from the Sangiovese grape variety, which is grown on the youngest vines planted in 2011 in the La Mannella zone, one of the coolest areas of the Montalcino appellation, on an altitude of 350 meters above sea level. The soils of the vineyard are rocky. After harvesting, which is carried out at the time of optimal ripeness of the berries, the grapes undergo traditional vinification at a controlled temperature in steel vats. The wine is aged in large Slavonian oak barrels with a volume of 30 hl for 6 months, after which it is bottled and “rests” in the cellars of the winery for at least 3 months. Annually 10-15 thousand bottles of La Mannella Rosso di Montalcino wine are produced. At the peak of maturity, the 2019 vintage will be between 2021-2025.
