Description

Wine “Giramonte” category “Super Premium” is created in the Tenuta di Castiglioni, in an old manor Frescobaldi family, which is located 30 kilometers north-west of Florence, in the area of Chianti Colli Fiorentini. Magnificent soil, an ideal microclimate and rigorous selection of grapes give a guarantee of the highest quality. There are rich and intense wine with a silky texture and endless aftertaste.

2009 harvest was collected in two stages: September 26-27 was assembled Merlot, and in the second half of October – Sangiovese. Fermented wine in stainless steel at a controlled temperature for 14 days. After that were produced maceration (for Merlot – 25 days for Sangiovese – 21 days) and malolactic fermentation in barriques. The wine is aged for 16 months in new oak barrels and 6 months in bottles.

For over 700 years, the family has been growing grapes in the heart of Tuscany, and the name of Frescobaldi is strongly linked with the history of art, culture and commerce in the region. In 1989 they were acquired by the biggest economy in the region, Brunello, and in 1995 signed an agreement with a California winery joint venture in Tuscany for the production and distribution of Tuscan wines of the highest quality in the world market. Today Frescobaldi own nine names located in the best areas of Tuscany. There are elite wines, which are exported to more than 60 countries.
