Description
Grattamacco, Vermentino – fresh, delicious wine, created from selected grapes Vermentino. The vineyard is situated at an altitude of 100 meters above sea level, where the mild and gentle Mediterranean climate, coupled with the rich marl and clay soils give the vines the best that can offer this terroir. Vermentino is grown organically and, hence, its taste can be called pure and natural. The average age of the vines – 20 years. Crop is harvested by hand, fermentation is carried out in steel tanks and oak barrels that have been used for aging wine. Excerpt performed on the lees, with periodic batonnazhem (stirring). Its final form exquisite wine gets from aging in the bottle for six months.
Grattamacco estate was founded in 1977. The estate is located on a hilltop overlooking the sea, between Bolgheri and Castagneto Carducci, at an altitude of 100 meters above sea level. Due to climatic conditions – dry climate and warm summers – this area has historically been devoted to the production of great wines. Manor Grattamakko takes about 35 hectares, of which 14 hectares are given under the vineyards and 3 hectares – under the olive groves. The remaining area is covered by forests, and the border between the vast tracts of forest, covering about 1,600 hectares. The average age of the vineyards of the estate is about 25 years. All of them are certified by ICEA as organic.
