  • This beautiful, juicy, fresh wine is called “Il Seggio” , as the largest river in the municipality of Castagneto Carducci, where they harvest for this wine. There are all conditions for excellent grapes. Soils are predominantly sedimentary. The proximity of the Tyrrhenian coast, protection from the cold winds by the hills, the ideal amount of sunlight throughout the year allows the berries to fully ripen.

Wine grapes “Il Seggio” are picked manually in small boxes and sent to the winery, where it is combed, after which the berries are gently pressed and partially crushed. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature of 28-30 C in barriques for 12 days. The wine is aged in 225-liter French oak barrels Allier, 30% of which are new, for 15 months. It is recommended to decant one hour before serving. The potential for wine storage is 4-10 years.

Poggio al Tesoro is a joint project of Allegrini , a leading Italian wine producer from the Valpolicella region, and Leonardo Lo Cassio, president of Weinbou, a leading importer of Italian wines to America. Together they chose Bolgeri, a beautiful wine region in Tuscany – Poggio al Tesoro, which occupies here about 173 acres, divided into three vineyards – Via Bolgerese, Le Grottin and Le Sondrije. A sufficient amount of sunlight, proximity to the sea and the uniqueness of the Bolgeri terroir are reflected in the wines of Poggio al Tesoro – maturity, fullness and richness are combined with complexity and elegance.

The soil and climatic conditions are somewhat reminiscent of Bordeaux: the hot Tuscan sun is softened by cool sea breezes, and the hills surrounding the valley protect the vines from the northern winds. The local beauties of this region were immortalized in the works of the outstanding Italian poet, Nobel Prize winner Josue Carducci.

The best clones of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot are planted here to produce first-class international wines. Rounding out a number of varieties Vermentino and Shiraz, which convey the uniqueness of the local region. All classical viticulture techniques are applied here, aimed at achieving the best quality: grapes are harvested and sorted by hand – first in the vineyard, then in the winery. Red varieties are fermented separately and then mixed to achieve the best balance.
