Wine Inama, “Du Lot”, Soave Classico DOC, 2018

Description

“Vigneto du Lot” – an excellent white wine, created from Garganega grapes, which are harvested from a unique vineyard, located in the south-western slopes of Mount Foscarini. Vineyard area of 2 hectares, planting density of 3000 / ha. Vineyard soil composed of basaltic lava volcanic origin.
Crop is harvested by hand. Then, a destemming and crushing berries. Received after compaction must assert the cold for 12 hours and drained. Alcoholic fermentation takes place partly in new oak barriques (30%). Lees aging in barriques lasts 6 months, regularly batonnazh. Before bottling the wine is filtered. Storage capacity “vignette du Lot” is 5 years. Every year it produces only about 13,000 bottles.

Original label created by the English artist and architect Nicholas Wood, which adheres to the motto – “Classical art for classic wines.” Experimenting with the work of Inigo Jones – English architect who lived in the 16th century, Wood, with the help of computer software “update” ancient drawings. One of these sketches depicting angels, created at a time when Soave was flourishing, and became the logo of wine Soave Classico.

The founder of the winery Inama is Giuseppe Inam, who in the 1950’s started to get on their savings vineyards in the Soave Classico wine zone. Giuseppe was convinced of the potential of Soave and wanted to show the world what a Garganega grapes. His goal was to collect only high-quality vineyards with old vines Garganega and create wines that would be able to raise the reputation of Soave. In addition Garganega Giuseppe also began to grow Sauvignon Blanc, as local soil strikingly express themselves in this unique varieties. Today farming Inam owns 25 hectares of vineyards in the Soave, from which are produced as Soave wines and Sauvignon Blanc. The idea of Giuseppe fully justified itself, and today the key to producing great wines Soave is to work with old vines that grow on the best plots.
In the 1990s Giuseppe Inam began producing red wines of the region Colli Berici. Mineral-rich soil, hot and dry climate create ideal conditions for ripening grapes such as Carmenere, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Carmenere was brought to this place Italian workers returning from France in the 19th century, Giuseppe Inam and his son Stefano believe Collie Berici – the best place for the cultivation of this variety. The company adheres to Inama organic methods in growing grapes. Stefano says: “We grow grapes in accordance with the principles of organic farming, but do not do this publicity, as it is not a marketing tool, the quality of wine – this is a real marketing tool.”
Today Inam wine known throughout the world. Thanks to its excellent characteristics, they won the hearts of wine lovers and regularly receive awards, many critics, sommeliers and wine connoisseurs recognize Inam among the best.
