Pinot Grigio – it is not just the name of the Italian version of the French Pinot Gris. Although these two names belong to the same family and are considered synonymous, their characteristics differ markedly from each other due to the terroir in which grown. The main cultivation of Pinot Grigio country is Italy, especially its northern part. Local wines from the Pinot Grigio differ freshness and brightness. Pinot Gris is actively cultivated in all the wine regions of France – Champagne from the Rhone to the South, but after the invasion of phylloxera in the XVIII century, it was only in Alsace. Here Pinot Gris, often passing aging in oak barrels, a very complex, bold and significant.

Harvest to create “Leonardo” Pinot Grigio harvested relatively early, in order to preserve as much as possible its natural acidity. To preserve the freshness and energy of grape fermentation and aging process is carried out in stainless steel tanks.
