The Limited Release range, while aiming for consistency, is essentially a “seal of approval” as wines under this label are only produced if they reach heights of flavour and complexity. Each wine is released in limited quantities and is often sold by distribution to trusted friends and clients.
Lourensford, “Limited Release” Viognier is a masterpiece of South African winemaking. Situated in the picturesque Helderberg region, the Lourensford estate has been producing exceptional wines for centuries, and this Viognier is a testament to their commitment to excellence. After fermentation in French oak barriques and a special egg-shaped fermenter designed according to the golden ratio, the wine is aged for 11 months in barrels, which are turned every 2 weeks to ensure optimum contact between the wine and the lees. Carefully crafted to showcase the unique qualities of the Viognier grape and the estate’s terroir, this wine is released in limited quantities. Decanting is recommended 1-2 hours before drinking.
