Description
Barolo “Sorano” is made from Nebbiolo grapes from the best vineyards of the family Askeri in Sorano (Serralunga d’Alba). Harvesting takes place from mid to end of October. The grapes are harvested by hand and transported as quickly as possible to the winery. Fermentation of wort takes 15 days and is carried out at a temperature of 30 C in steel tanks. Sometimes, depending on the quality of the crop, 60% of the wort is used postfermentatsionnaya maceration for 25-40 days. Then the wine is aged 6 months in steel tanks and 28 months in barrels made of Slavonian oak. The percentage of new and old barrels is determined by the results of the tasting. After blending of wines from several regions of Barolo is bottled and matures 10 months in the cellars Askeri. The result is a Barolo in a contemporary style, has all the hallmarks of the great Italian Barolo with its strength and elegance. “Sorano” has a high storage capacity, is 25 years, and requires pre-decanting before serving.
