“Battito del Maletto” Nebbiolo, 2022 – a magnificent red wine from Northern Italy. “The heartbeat of Maletto” is made up of 95% Nebbiolo and 5% Ner d’Ala, a rare local variety grown in Canavese, Val d’Aosta and Pinerolese. 70% of the grapes come from organic leased vineyards in the Canavese area, 30% from small plots in Careme. Fermentation with native yeasts takes place in stainless steel tanks, 20% of the grapes are vinified in whole bunches. The wine is aged in stainless steel tanks for about 10 months. “Battito del Maletto” is a lively, juicy and tasty red wine, filled with hints of ripe wild berries, licorice and mountain herbs. It shows all the tension of Nebbiolo without sacrificing complexity and elegance. The vintage was released in a quantity of only 2000 bottles.
