Description
Nicolis, Amarone della Valpolicella Classico – a rich, elegant and energetic wine in which a high strength is in harmony with a clear structure, and aromatic richness is combined with an exquisite style. The wine is made in the traditional way for Amarone. After the grapes are harvested, they are placed in small boxes and left in dry, well-ventilated rooms. Here the berries are dried, getting an unusually high concentration of sugar. After 4 months, the grapes are gently pressed. Fermentation at low temperature lasts a long time, and the stage of maceration takes more than a month. Then part of the wine is aged in medium barrels of Slavonian oak, and part in small oak barriques. After bottling, the wine matures in bottles for another 8 months.
