  • Rupert & Rothschild, Classique is a perfect analogue of the famous red wines of Bordeaux. It was created by a classic recipe of traditional grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grown in Origin Western Cape. Cabernet Sauvignon gives the wine structure and fullness, and Merlot softens its tannins at the same time giving a bouquet of great complexity. The average age of the vines ranges from 9 to 18 years. The average yield of 1.3 kg per vine. 2011 harvest was going from early February to mid-March. Each variety vinified separately. Primary fermentation lasted from 16-20 days and was carried out in 10,000 liter stainless steel tanks in contact with the skins of grapes, making wine has an intense color and a rich palette of flavors. Malolactic fermentation takes place in French oak barrels. After blending, the wine for 18 months aged in 225-liter oak barrels, making a bouquet optional light tones of spices and a soft, rounded taste. The wine will develop in the bottle noble palette of taste and aroma at least until 2017.

Rupert and Rothschild Company Vineron was founded in 1997 when Anton Rupert and Baron Benjamin de Rothschild, son of the late Baron Edmond de Rothschild of France, have entered into a partnership agreement.
