Description
White wine “Assisi”, created with the help of the famous enologist Ricardo Kotarella – monosepazhnoe made from grapes Grechetto grown in a vineyard near the town of Assisi in Umbria. The vineyard covers 5 acres and is located at an altitude of 300 meters above sea level. His red soils contain calcium carbonate. Stocking density of vines is 4,000 plants per hectare, with an average age – 15 years. Harvesting is carried out in September. The grapes were crushed desteblirovan and then, prior to compression, is maintained for 6 hours in contact with the skin at a low temperature. Alcoholic fermentation the wine is carried out in stainless steel tanks at a temperature no higher than 16 C. Malolactic fermentation is performed. The wine is aged for several months in bottles and produced young, fresh and at their best. The wine can be drunk immediately, and can be stored for 4 years.
Many generations of families engaged in Umbria Sportoletti agriculture and viticulture. In the late 1970s, the brothers Ernesto and Remo Sportoletti decided to turn its attention exclusively on the wine industry, which their father had taught – Vittorio Sportoletti. That’s when they put on the market the first thousand bottles under its own brand. Since then, the brothers had done tremendous work in search of the perfect balance between innovation, tradition and the ability to realize the full potential of their terroir – the hills of Spello and Assisi. It is on these hills vineyards of the family, which now occupy 20 hectares. Brothers were gradually upgraded vineyards, leading to more efficient and improve the quality viticulture. Thanks to successful plant breeding and implementation of the “Cordon”, controlled by the amount of the kidneys and hence productivity of plants. The company also produces organic olive oil. They are a beautiful grove of olive trees in 2500 located at an altitude of about 500 meters above sea level on the slopes of Monte Subasio. Winery Sportoletti produces four wines: Assisi Rosso DOC, Assisi Grechetto DOC, Villa Fidelia Bianco IGT, Villa Fidelia Rosso IGT. The volume of production in the last ten years was about 200,000 bottles a year.
