Elegant, soft, fresh, well-balanced wine Fontanafredda, Gavi, 2012, part of the line of traditional wine Fontanafredda, made from Cortese grapes grown on sandy soils in the region Gavi. An estate with a beautiful name Fontanafredda, means “cold fountain” is an unusually romantic story of its origin. This is a story of love Italian King Victor Emmanuel II and the Duchess of Roses Mirafiori, who was born the daughter of a soldier. Currently, the estate covers more than 70 acres of beautiful land in Piedmont. The vineyards of the estate are located in the territories of the communes of Barolo, Serralunga d’Alba and Diano d’Alba. On most of the grape fields (40 ha) is grown Nebbiolo grapes, and the rest of the equally grow Chardonnay, Moscato, Barbera and Dolcetto. In 1931 Fontanafredda became the property of one of the oldest banks in Italy – Monte dei Paschi di Siena (Monte dei Paschi).
