  • Red wine “Villa Antinori” was first produced in 1928 by Niccol Antinori, Piero Antinori’s father. Over time, the wine has improved, becoming more mature. In 2001, Piero Antinori opens a new era “Villa Antinori”, began producing wine only from the best, carefully selected grapes grown exclusively in the estate in Tuscany. Label design has remained unchanged since 1928.

    Weather 2010 is characterized by negative temperatures in late winter and spring. Budding and flowering began 15 days later than usual. By July establish warm, with the usual average temperatures of the area, which helped the vines to catch up in development. In August, there is a strong temperature fluctuations between day and night heat cool – it has allowed the harvest to ripen on time, according to the schedule. Merlot collected during the first decade of September, Sangiovese – September 20. The total harvest ended by mid-October. The grapes were separated from the stalks and soft pressing passed. Fermentation in stainless steel tanks began the day after the crushing and lasted 5-7 days, maceration on the skins lasted for 8-12 days depending on the grape variety. The temperature of the fermentation of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon does not exceed 28 C, thereby contributing to the favorable extraction of color and tannins. In the case Siroy Merlot, the temperature never exceeding 25 C to preserve aromatics. After malolactic fermentation during October and November, the wine is aged in barrels of French, American and Hungarian oak 12 months after bottling – another 8 months.

    Antinori – the oldest winery in Tuscany, it has been producing wine for more than 600 years!
